Tessa was 13 when she attended Camp Hope Haven. “That wonderful summer began a life of learning about God’s goodness and love. To this day I can recall my counselor’s smile and kindly manner. The counselors were always kind and patient. This struck me as different and I wanted to know why. Another thing that still sticks with me was the verses we learned every day. They impacted my life and continue to do so. I can’t begin to count the ways God used Camp Hope Haven to plant seeds in my heart.”
Tessa worked at camp for the next five years and 19 years later, she is back at Hope Haven, where she works as a relief/assistant houseparent in the Children’s Home. “God is always there giving us strength and courage to carry on. Who knows, perhaps some other camper will come back years later and serve the Lord here at Hope Haven.”
